Archery in school...

Archery is unique in that it can be a sport, a past-time, a craft, a skill and a history lesson whilst still being an Olympic event.

The history behind archery has led to a clear code of etiquette that engenders a sense of understanding, equality and respect in its participants yet still encourages healthy competition.

Introducing archery at your school, whether as a one-off informal event or as part of your curriculum will provide an outlet for your students whilst giving them the opportunity to learn new skills and values.

Archery is recognised as a GCSE PE subject but is often not offered to students due to the need for specialist equipment and specialist teacher training... ACE can take these restrictions away by supplying both on a regular basis when needed.

Following a venue inspection and risk analysis it may also be possible to offer archery indoors at your school.

At ACE we maintain fully qualified coaching staff that are CRB checked by the UK's governing body at an enhanced level and are all current in child protection awareness.

Through Sports Coach UK we are fully insured for third-party and public liability. Please note that many insurance companies require archery supervising staff to be qualified to the level of 'Archery Leader'; however, this is a non-coaching grade attainable by non-archers after just a four-day course. ACE uses qualifed archery coaches where training requirement and assessments exceeds those for a pilot's license.

We can supply equipment or advise on equipment purchase and just supply qualified coaching resource, it is your choice.
